Just a quick little post to show some of the woolens that little Arthur is wearing this winter!
Petite knit – Albert’s Pilot Hat – found here
When I came across the pattern for Albert’s Pilot Hat, I really wanted to make one for Arthur and I finally got around to it last month! I love Petite Knit patterns and have bought several of them over the last few years. The only trouble I had with this one was starting it as it’s knit from the top down and I am usually pretty hopeless with double pointed needles and even more hopeless with the Magic Loop method. After several tries though I got it started (phew!) and glad I did, as I love how it turned out and it looks lovely on Arthur! I ended up doing seed stitch around the edges rather than garter called for in the pattern, but other than that it’s all the same.
Vintage look scarf – found here
I just love this baby scarf! I’d seen this type of scarf in vintage photos before and was hoping to find a pattern to make one. Thankfully, Liesl Gibson (designer of Oliver + S patterns) had posted a free pattern on her blog! This scarf has a little loop knit into it so you can stick one end through, so it is perfect for little ones as it stays put ♥
comfy baby socks – found here
These little socks are so quick to knit! And simple too. I had never knit socks before and I had no trouble at all making these. I made these cranberry coloured ones from some leftover Malabrigo Worsted – it’s such a lovely yarn and perfect for baby socks as it’s so soft and quite thick.
felted mittens
These are the very best mittens for little ones! My mum has kindly made so many lovely pairs of mittens for our family (and friends!) over the years – and not just kids’ ones… our whole family wears them! They are so warm and cozy ♥ I hope to post a link to the pattern soon!
chilly day at the park ♥
