I created this free St. Patrick’s Day printable activity sheet for teachers and homeschoolers to use as a fun way for kids to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
This activity page is designed to get kids thinking and writing about things that they feel most fortunate about in their lives, while getting in the spirit of this fun Irish holiday that is celebrated by Irish people and non-Irish alike.
St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday for kids to celebrate – dressing in green and gold, wearing shamrocks and other Irish cultural imagery and perhaps even enjoying a little Irish food like colcannon or Irish barmbrack.
Although St. Patrick’s Day originated as a religious holiday, it became more secularized with the arrival of Irish immigrants in North America.
St. Patrick’s Day – March 17th – has become a day to celebrate everything that encompasses Irish culture, including the ‘luck o’ the Irish’! I’ve designed this St. Patrick’s Day printable around the idea of luck, using the prevalent St. Patrick’s day symbol of the green shamrock.
The activity page has a spot in the centre for the child to fill in their name, 3 spots to express things they feel fortunate about, a fill-in-the-blank: ‘If I had a pot of gold, I would give it to…’ , as well as a spot to write their favourite number. The shamrock can then be cut out and hung up around the classroom.
